Cleansing of the mind

Hi everyone :-)

I have read some truly inspirational blogs this morning and have come to realise that this weight loss journey is also in a sense a cleansing of your mind. There are so many fears , insecurities still holding me back and I am sure I am not alone here in that. I read Karens blog and for some unknown reason I cant leave a comment.... but I just wanted to say that I have that quote as a fridge magnet just I ve never taken the time to try and live by it. I understand what you mean about the bike Karen as I have often thought about getting one myself and riding with my girls but have held back because I think to myself that ppl will say gees she needs to ride more often. You have certainly given me a lot to think about as well as Suzy, and Jak's posts always find them inspirational... as I do a lot more recently with Lee-annes posts as well. I dont read that many blogs...know I should as everyone is wonderful in their own way of dealing with this weight loss journey.

I have been back into the full swing of things with my exercise..... have done 2 1/2 hours everyday so am really happy with that. I have even managed to do those arm exercises everyday in the hope that my arms will tone up at least a little bit.

K well I hope everyone has a great weekend, good luck with your weighins Karen and Jak ( hope I can comment soon on blogs).

Take care

Weigh in day

Hi everyone

Weigh in day again today am very happy to report that I lost 1.5 kg this week.

Girls went back to school yesterday so I was up at 6 and into my exercises, felt really tired last night but fantastic as well. I missed that feeling the past 2 weeks. I have been doing my stepper everyday and I am also doing more with my total gym basically just concentrating on my top half though. I tried these arm exercises that were in a blog that I linked from Jak's blog and I did them this morning and omg did they kill. I could really feel the whole sensation of it all so I really think in time and if I manage to do these everyday as well as total gym every second day that there is hope for my arms ( alleluia).

I wanted to have a mushroom and chicken omelette for lunch today but silly me didnt refrigerate what was left over from Saturday and it went off. I am new to mushrooms and so wanted that gotta make up for 40 years of not eating them havent I lol. Oh well I had a toasted chicken, cheese and pineapple sandwich instead was yummmy too.

I got my mammogram results back yesterday all clear so that is a bigggg relief.

Ok well that all from me today... hope everyone is well.

RE: Negative list

Hi Back again

I have been in a thoughtful mood the past week and have been thinking about my negative list from a couple of weeks ago. I sometimes look in the mirror and see a difference and then the next day I cant see it or I feel fat and frumpy. In the past I hated having my photo taken and while on this image part I used to hate looking at myself in the mirror as well. I can remember times where I have been shopping and have actually hated my reflection on the freezer doors, Ive never had full length mirrors in my house and sometimes I have even been known to not get my hair cut when its been needed as I have not liked what I have seen looking back at me. Wow I really had low self esteem, poor self image and a huge dose of self denial.

Now ok that is the past and the day I decided to change my lifestyle was the biggest positive step.Anyway my point being that I have come to realise that why I cant see the 28 kg loss( nearly there) when I look in the mirror is because I never actually had a good look at the old me. I never accepted just how big I was, what I really looked like before so now when I look my mind thinks I should look smaller and therefore I cant see it. I know I have lost heaps just by the size I now take and my old clothes falling off me but to mentally see it in the mirror has been such a struggle for me.Does this make sense or is it just me? Ok so to turn this negative into a positive I tracked down a couple of old pics of me and made myself have a good look at them, I then got my daughter to take a photo of me and I compared the two. I went shopping and made myself look at me in the doors of the freezers and I liked what I saw, I really liked my reflection and then I stood on my bed and looked at myself in the bathroom mirror and it finally sunk in just how much I have lost and just how my body has and still is changing shape.

Anyway just thought I would share this.... hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend.

goodbye chips

Hello

Well I think I have had a major breakthrough.... I think I am over my craving for potato chips once and for all. I had a 50 gram pkt of deli style chips on Friday night and today I went to have another packet( I know norty me) but I felt quite ill after eating a few and I really believe that they no longer will be a weakness for me.
I was talking to my g/f last week and she said to me do you think you will gain weight once you reach your goal, like hello let me get to goal first lol but seriously I answered NO as I really do not enjoy eating the fatty foods anymore. I know I ve still had the occasional pizza, kfc, hot chips over the past 6 mths but really after eating them Ive sat back and realised that I havent really enjoyed it to be honest. I do enjoy however all the "new" foods I eat and am trying new foods all the time only yesterday it was mushrooms and arent they yumm.

School goes back tomorrow and therefore its time to get back into my 2 21/2 hrs of exercise.I am kinda looking forward to that......omg I said that. I was reading Karens blog and at the things she has changed in her lifestyle so my imaginary leader said for me to write down my changes as I head to my 30 kg loss .Here goes

1 I now drink at least 3.5 litres of water everyday compared to never.
2 I now eat broc, cabbage, spinach, cauli,mushrooms,zuchini,asparagus .
3 I now exercise everyday and really enjoy it.
4 I now have a lot more energy, sleep better,no headaches and overall feel great.
5 I have cut my portion sizes, and eat more vegies and fruit.

Ok well there it is..... well it is Sunday so I think I will get away with the sermon lol.
Take care
